Diabetes is a disease that affects nearly every organ system in the body. Finding out you have diabetes brings a variety of different feelings and reactions. Over the years, coping with the disease is sometimes frustrating and discouraging. Having the disease is a huge responsibility. The success of any diabetes treatment depends completely on you, the patient.
Good diabetes control means a healthier life with fewer complications. It also brings quality to your life to have blood sugar in control. Unfortunately, good control is not always easy. Knowing that good control is important is not enough to help most people manage the disease. Most people need some guidance and education about it.
The Bremo Diabetes Lifecare program is designed to help guide people with diabetes in how to take control. A series of two-hour group discussion sessions are offered at the classroom facilities in the building where Bremo Pharmacy is housed. The sessions are run by three experienced diabetes educators including; a nurse, dietician and pharmacist.
The diabetes discussion sessions are a good idea for anyone who wants to take control of the disease. It is particularly helpful for people who are not well controlled, recently started new medications, have never had diabetes classes or who need an update. The sessions include diabetes basics, nutrition, meters and monitoring, medications, complications, and care for life. More information about each session of the program can be found on our website at www.bremorx.com/diabetes or by calling our diabetes extension at 285-8055 extension 135. These sessions are often covered by health insurance plans. We are happy to help do all of the insurance billing for participants.
Having diabetes can be a real challenge. Bremo Diabetes Lifecare program can help you take control so diabetes will not have you!
