Richmond Apothecaries No Show Policy: 16-hour Refresher and 68-hour Medication Management Class

Reminder:

All medication aides currently working in Assisted Living Facilities must be registered with the Virginia Board of Nursing by December 1, 2008.  A schedule is attached outlining the classes available at Richmond Apothecaries.  Our goal is to help you be compliant with the new regulations.  We ask for your cooperation in getting all medication aides registered for the appropriate classes to ensure they can be trained by the deadline.

We are limited to the number of students who may attend the Medication Management classes and decide whether or not we will hold class depending on the number of students who have pre-booked. When individuals pre-book Richmond Apothecaries guarantees these individuals a spot in the next available class. Richmond Apothecaries often has to turn away other eligible students because of the maximum number constraints set forth by the Board of Nursing Regulations.

Due to the increase absentee rate for individuals who sign up for classes and fail to show on the first day we have been forced to implement a fee for this action. Effective March 1, 2008, Richmond Apothecaries will charge a fee of $20 for any individual who pre-books a spot in the 16-hour Refresher and/or 68-hour Medication Management Class and does not show up for class and/or cancel within 24 hours of the scheduled class.

Richmond Apothecaries Attendance Policy: 68-hour Medication Management Class
Effective March 1, 2008

As previously stated, the enrollment fee is charged upon attendance at Day 1 of the class and is nonrefundable. In addition, if a student misses 2 or more of the six scheduled classroom days, he/she will be required to pay the full fee again to make up the classes missed during the next scheduled 68-hour class.
